Acetyl xylan esterase 7A, Bacillus subtilis
Acetyl xylan esterase 7A (BsAxe7A), assigned the E.C. number 3.1.1.72 and 3.1.1.41, is a derivative of Bacillus subtilis. It is an esterase that removes acetyl groups from a number of O-acetylated small substrates, such as acetylated xylose, short xylooligosaccharides and cephalosporin C. The recombinant BsAxe7A, purified from Escherichia coli, is a single-domain Carbohydrate Esterase family 7 (CE7) enzyme (see more details at www.cazy.org).
