NZYtech’s MRSA Multiplex Real-time PCR Kit, provides the set of reagents, enzymes, and oligonucleotides (primers and probes) for the qualitative detection of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus genome using the Alinity m System (Abbott).
Worldwide, MRSA is one of the most frequent human pathogens of nosocomial and community infections. S. aureus has a remarkable ability to acquire resistance to antibiotics, which has major implications for the therapeutic options of this pathogenic bacterium. Culture-based detection of MRSA requires the isolation of pure colonies followed by antibiotic susceptibility testing, and this process can take up to 72 hours. Application of fast real-time PCR-based assays for MRSA screening from nasal swabs can decrease turnaround time to 1 to 2 hours.
