The workflow includes:
- Binding of DNA or RNA to the beads.
- Magnetic separation and removal of contaminants (nucleotides, primers, adapters, dimers, enzymes, salts, and buffer additives).
- Ethanol washes to ensure thorough purification.
- A short drying step to eliminate residual ethanol.
- Elution of highly pure nucleic acids, RNA or DNA, in a low-salt elution buffer or water for immediate downstream applications.
