Description: CjFae1A (CBM2-CBM35-CE1), E.C. number, is is an enzyme that hydrolyzes the ferulate groups involved in the crosslinking of hemicelluloses to lignin from Cellvibrio japonicus. Recombinant CjFae1A (CBM2-CBM35-CE1), purified from Escherichia coli, is a modular family 1 Carbohydrate Esterase (CE1) with an N-terminal two Carbohydrate Binding Module (CBM2 and CBM35) (www.cazy.org). The enzyme is provided in 35 mM NaHepes buffer, pH 7.5, 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM imidazol, 3.5 mM CaCl2, 0.02% sodium azide and 25% (v/v) glycerol, at a 1 mg/mL concentration.
