Description: BsHep21A (PL21), E.C. number 4.2.2.8 and 4.2.2.7 , is a bifunctional enzyme that acts on linkages between acetyl-glucosamine and uronate of polysaccharides containing glucuronate or iduronate residues and 1,4-α linked 2-sulfoamino-2-deoxy-6-sulfo-D-glucose residues from Bacteroides stercoris. Recombinant BsHep21A (PL21), purified from Escherichia coli, is a single domain family 21 Pectate Lyase (PL21) (www.cazy.org). The enzyme is provided in 35 mM NaHepes buffer, pH 7.5, 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM imidazol, 3.5 mM CaCl2, 0.02% sodium azide and 25% (v/v) glycerol, at a 1 mg/mL concentration.
