One-step real-time RT-PCR is the fastest and most reliable method to perform an accurate detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA, which is indicative of an human infection. NZYtech SARS-CoV-2 One-Step RT-PCR Kit includes all reagents required to identify the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a variety of relevant samples. RNA isolated and purified from different biological material is retrotranscribed to cDNA and subsquently amplified in a single reaction using two highly specific primers/probe sets exploiting the so-called TaqMan® principle. During this process, one probe specifically anneals to one region of SARS-CoV-2 RdRp gene, in case the sample was extracted from an infected patient. An additional primer/probe set acts as an internal control to detect nucleic acids of the human RNase P gene (RP), which allows confirming the efficacy of the RNA extraction process from human derived biological material. In addition, this internal control allows to demonstrate that no reaction inhibition has occurred by PCR inhibitors potencially present in the clinical/environmental samples. The two probes are differently labelled, with FAM and JOE reporter dyes, respectively, to allow identifying the individual amplification of the two gene targets in a single reaction. In addition, they are provided in optimized concentrations to make sure amplification of human mRNA, even when present at very high concentrations, do not limit the efficiency of the SARS-CoV-2 primers/probe set. In case SARS-CoV-2 quantification is required a SARS-CoV-2 Copy Number Quantification Nucleic Acid is provided at 1 x 10^7 copies/μL.
